Sukkot at the IDF Bases in Israel

It’s an eight-day long festival observed by taking meals in the Sukkah–the makeshift hut commemorating the Divine protection the Jewish people enjoyed during their long sojourn in the Sinai desert back in Biblical times. Sukkot also celebrates Jewish unity, with the unique mitzvah of the Four Kinds–the lulav and etrog, representative of the diversity among our people and the blessing to be found in unity.

With its mobile Sukkahs, Chabad in Israel visits IDF bases countrywide, to offer soldiers the opportunity to participate in the holiday, and celebrate together.
