Friday evening, after the onset of Shabbat, authorities confirmed new information about the explosion that occurred Thursday, April 7 near the Chabad House in Santa Monica, leading them to regard this as an intentional incident.

A photo and profile released by the Santa Monica Police Department, describes the suspect as a 60-year old white male using the name Hirsch Ron or Israel Fisher. Suspect has brown hair, green eyes, is 5’7”  and weighs 207 lbs. The suspect is described as “extremely dangerous.”

The explosion was initially reported and confirmed as an industrial accident by law enforcement and homeland security officials.

We have no information regarding a specific threat against any Chabad institution, but are in close contact with the relevant agencies, and have advised Chabad Centers around the world to be on alert and extra vigilant.
