In the Numbers: Chabad’s Growth in the Past 25 Years

25 years after the passing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Chabad continues to grow

Will Chabad survive?” asked a headline in a leading Jewish journal in the days following the passing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in 1994. At the time there were 1,325 Chabad institutions worldwide.

Twenty-five years later, the Rebbe lives on in the shluchim [emissaries] and their innovative efforts to reach and teach kindred souls from cradle to grave, to bring light and warmth and joy to every nook and cranny of the world.

Here’s what his legacy of love has inspired since:

3,073 new Chabad Centers (and counting)

248 Mikvahs

451 Preschools

96 Elementary Schools

260 CKids chapters

577 Hebrew Schools

507 CTeen chapters

16 Orphanages

382 Chabad campus centers

73 Chabad Young Professionals chapters

62 Friendship Circle chapters

1,600 Jewish Learning Institute affiliates

3,808 more Chabad couples have taken up positions as emissaries of the Rebbe

around the globe.

If that’s not love, what is?
