A retired optometrist who was seeking to find fulfillment in the next chapter of her life will be honored during Chabad of Western Monmouth County’s 31st annual Jewish Women’s Day program, which will take place on Feb. 4 at the Radisson Hotel, Freehold Township.

Children spent their day off Monday dancing, learning about Jewish tradition and baking at the Chabad House Jewish Community Center.

Gabi and Rivka Holtzberg were killed in Chabad House, a Jewish cultural centre in the western Indian city of Mumbai, during a deadly attack in 2008. Moshe was barely two years old at the time.

“The world is looking,” says Rabbi Yisroel Greenburg of Chabad, “for something good to report, continuously. Unfortunately, It’s a constant war between good and evil. Evil is not a real thing. Good is real.”

Not only did the 13-year-old perform his bar mitzvah – he was the first to do so, ever, in the northern Queensland city of Townsville.

In his visit to Israel in July 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met Moshe, who converses mostly in Hebrew. Moshe had then expressed a wish to visit India. His visit next week is to show him the place of his birth.

Utah’s Rabbi Benny Zippel says that for the modern challenges that high-tech devices pose to relationships, answers can be found in ancient Jewish wisdom.

Chabad holds services and educational programming at the site, which also houses a storage building and the family’s home. Eventually it will hold a new temple, a youth center, a hospitality house for guests of Chabad and a mikvah, a ritual bath used by married Jewish women for cleansing as a symbol of rebirth and renewal.

Chabad of Hunterdon County aims to address the important topics that affect teenagers in high school and pre-teens as they prepare for their high school experience, by hosting a panel discussion.

Levine, who’s running for Florida governor as a Democrat, spoke to students Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Lubavitch Chabad Jewish Center, located at 2021 NW Fifth Ave., as part of his statewide four-day bus tour, “Live! from Florida’s Living Rooms.”

Moshe was two years old when he lost his parents in the horrific attack in at Nariman House (also known as Chabad House) in Mumbai by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists.

He will share his powerful story of challenges and successes at an elegant Shabbat dinner at the Chabad House.
