Last Saturday, the Chabad House on the Champs-Elysées Boulevard temporarily closed its doors for the first time due to safety concerns. The Chabad House issued a message saying that “for the first time, the Chabad House will not open on Shabbat morning; the police do not have the situation under control and today is a very dangerous day.”

Director of the Chabad House Rabbi Eitan Webb explained that he has been working on trying to host a fully kosher Jewish event at Prospect House for “over a decade.”

The Jewish community at California State University Northridge held a menorah lighting on Dec. 6 in response to the anti-Semitic graffiti that was found a day earlier.

On Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018, the Meyer family dedicated a Sefer Torah to the Chabad of Greater Hartford, parading along the sidewalk with the Torah from Iroquois Rd. to the synagogue on Albany Avenue, singing singing dancing along the way, celebrating this dedication to honor the memory of Sheldon Meyer, husband, father, and grandfather.
