One teen survived a suicide attempt, another lost his mother to addiction. One prevailed on her public school to add the Jewish holidays to their calendar, another arranged for a sukkah to be brought to his. In front of more than 2,500 teens from over 450 cities, at the 11th annual CTeen International Leadership Conference in New York City, these high schoolers told their stories and urged their peers to look inward, realize their unique value and purpose, and make an impact on their surroundings.

The highlight of last weekend’s Shabbaton was when the thousands of teens descended on Times Square for a Havdalah ceremony and concert in Times Square in a unique display of Jewish pride. Announced at the event was the latest CTeen chapter, its 500th in fact, in Prague, Czech Republic.
