For six years, this paraglider has been making waves on the beaches of Tel Aviv. Each Friday, tens of thousands of tourists and residents look up to view that week’s candle-lighting time. As Shabbat approaches, candles are lit. The response to this innovative Shabbat reminder has been enthusiastic, shares Rabbi Yosef Gerlitzky of Chabad in Tel Aviv. The paraglider stops its own flight with enough time to return home before Shabbat. This week (Aug. 10) in Tel Aviv, light candles before 7:08pm.
