Rabbi Chaim and Nechama Dina Bar Sela opened the first kosher restaurant in Kigali, Rwanda, bringing kosher Israeli cuisine to central African locals and travelers alike. “Tourists are coming back to Rwanda, and the Jewish community is growing significantly,” Rabbi Chaim Bar Sela says, “now we finally have an answer for the people who ask where they can find kosher food, or a taste of Israel.” It’s the first kosher restaurant in central Africa, and Israeli ambassador Dr. Ron Adam was on hand to celebrate the opening.
