Chabad at the University of Central Florida broke ground this week for a new Chabad Jewish Student Center. The two-acre property, conveniently located next to student housing, was purchased in 2015. Construction begins immediately, with the goal of opening within a year.

The University of Central Florida is the largest university in the United States and has over 6,000 Jewish students. Rabbi Chaim and Rivkie Lipskier, the co-directors of Chabad at UCF, arrived on campus fifteen years ago, and they regularly host hundreds of students. The new building will provide much needed space and will include many student-friendly amenities, such as a library, student lounge, and guest rooms.
