Rabbi Levi Feigelstock, director of Chabad in Paraguay met with President Manuel Horacio Cartes Jara at the Presidential Palace in Asuncion, Paraguay. He thanked him for his support of Israel and for his decision to move the Paraguayan Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

Rabbi Feigelstock says he wanted to do something to show the gratitude of Paraguay's Jewish community to the outgoing President who has always been a friend of Israel. He presented the President with this plaque in recognition of the moving of the embassy.

This meeting was organized by Mrs Ruth Mendelzon, a longtime supporter of Bet Jabad Paraguay. She thanked the President for his support of the Jewish nation. Early in his Presidency, Mr Horacio Cartes Jara had resisted pressure from other South American countries. His vote stopped a motion against trade with Israel from going ahead.

During his meeting with Rabbi Levi and Miriam Feigelstock, the President claimed that there was nothing to thank him for as supporting Israel is the obvious choice. Rabbi Feigelstock encouraged him with the words of the Lubavitcher Rebbe to not be satisfied with what he has done until now, but always work to do more.
