Polish PM Supports Chabad’s Jewish Religious Activity in Poland

By , Jerusalem, Israel

(lubavitch.com/lns) On a State visit to Israel, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk visited at Jerusalem’s Western Wall, Wednesday where he was greeted by the holy site's Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovich, and Chabad’s representative to Poland, Rabbi Sholom Ber Stambler.

“The Prime Minister said that he appreciates this holy site in Jerusalem for the fortitude it gives the Jewish people to continue, after the Holocaust,” Rabbi Stambler told Lubavitch.com in a phone conversation from Israel.

The Prime Minister inquired about Chabad’s activities in Warsaw and Krakow. "He expressed strong support for the development of Jewish religious life in Poland," said Rabbi Stambler, who presented him with a gift of a mezuzah designed by Yakov Agam.

When his aides offered to carry the case with the mezuzah in it, the Prime Minister refused, insisting that it he will keep it with him “as protection,” said Stambler.

Chabad of Poland, under Rabbi Stambler’s leadership, will be hosting five Passover Seders.
