Thousands of Tel Avivians will celebrate the holiday of Purim at events organized by Chabad houses around the city of Tel Aviv and its surrounding neighborhoods, headed by chief emissary of Tel Aviv, Rabbi Yosef Gerlitzky.
Fifty different points across the city, among them Shenkin Garden, Magen David Square (Carmel market), Sarona, Dizengoff Center, and Chabad houses scattered throughout the city, will host programs throughout Purim, including non-stop Megillah readings and the distribution of thousands of mishloach manot packages.
Chabad volunteers will also visit hospitals, nursing homes, security forces, and many businesses throughout the city to spread the joy of the holiday and read the Megillah for those who can’t make it to a center or synagogue.
A grand Purim party and Megillah reading will also be held Saturday night at the Chabad synagogue Geulat Yisrael, which is located in the heart of Tel Aviv. A special children’s program has been organized by emissaries Rabbi Yitzhak Bir and Yechezkel Gewirtz of Chabad’s operations department in collaboration with women in the community.
