Chabad Begins to Ship Food for World’s Largest Seder

ISRAEL

While Maoist rebels clash with Nepal’s army, Chabad of Nepal is preparing for its legendary Passover seder.

A container filled to the brim with food provisions for the world’s largest seder set out yesterday from Israel, on a long distance journey to Nepal. says Rabbi Chezki Lipshcitz, Chabad representative to this kingdom in the Far East.

It will take a minimum of seven weeks for the container, holding 2000 wine bottles, 1.5 tons of Matzos, quantities of matzah meal, canned fish, spices, and sweets to reach its final destination. Along the route, it will travel to India by sea, from where it will be transported by land to Nepal.

Chabad’s famous Seder in Nepal, also known as the seder on a mountaintop, typically hosts more than 2000 guests. In Pokhara, Chabad will be hosting another communal seder for 400.
