International Mikvah Website To Be Revamped

Lubavitch Headquarters

(Lubavitch.com/LNS) Mikvah.org, the leading website for Jewish family life, is the grateful recipient of a significant grant that will make researching mikvah a newly rewarding experience for thousands of women.

The online Chabad resource for Jewish family life will apply the grant to revamping a website that currently includes a Global Mikvah Directory, Mikvah Photo Gallery, Mikvah Mall, and Speakers Bureau, as well as educational essays and articles on Jewish family life. The website is visited by thousands of women daily seeking practical and educational information.

“Thanks to this grant,” says Mrs. Chaya Sara Zarchi, director of Mikvah.org and Taharas Hamishpacha International (THI), “our website will now upgrade its comprehensive services for those interested in learning basics as well as those interested in advanced levels of study and information related to the field.”

The grant, by the Rohr Family Foundation, will facilitate the addition of new content complete with interactive features, sophisticated graphics and upgraded web design, as well as an online university.

DVDs, CDs and hundreds of books related to the subject matter will be searchable, allowing women of all backgrounds to cull from a broad and layered wealth of literature, lectures, useful tools and related material.

One of the new features, the Online Woman’s Personal Calendar, will allow users to download their personal information to a handheld, receive IMs and access their personal information globally.

“Mikvah.org is the ultimate online resource for Jewish women, especially for Shluchos like myself who devote a good segment of our adult educational classes to Jewish family life,” says Mrs. Rochel Kaplan, Chabad representative in Baltimore, MD.
THI, a division of Machne Israel, was established in 1975 by the Lubavitcher Rebbe Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory.

“This grant will enable Mikvah.org to enhance their educational reach for the benefit of Jewish families and Jewish women worldwide,” says Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, the Chabad-Lubavitch educational division.
The new Mikvah.org will serve as the prototype for Chabad representatives worldwide to incorporate into their current sites, and to use as their own mikvah site.
