500 Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbinical Students Set Out On Passover Tour

LUBAVITCH HEADQUARTERS -- (April 13, 2008)
(lubavitch.com/lns) As part of its traditional Passover outreach, Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, the educational division of Lubavitch Headquarters, is sponsoring the itineraries of 500 rabbinical students who’ve been accepted to arrange and lead seders in designated locations worldwide.

Last week, 200 rabbinical students departing from New York convened for a day-long orientation and briefing at Lubavitch Headquarters with Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos. Students participated in intensive halachik reviews of laws related to Passover and the Seder customs, as well as as a practicum on arranging Seders in remote locations.

The students will be working closely with regional Chabad representatives as they organize and conduct Seders in locations that are not presently served by full time Chabad representatives.

150 of the students are dedicated to Ukraine, 50 to Russia, and 300 to disparate locations on the globe, including China, Japan, Australia, the Africas, South America and North America, among them locations new on the map of Chabad-Lubavitch sponsored Seders.
