(lubavitch.com) Kosher observant travelers flying Bangkok Air out of Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok can now enjoy dinners prepared by the airline’s caterers under the supervision of a Chabad-Lubavitch representative.

Rabbi Chaim Wilhelm spends ten hours a day supervising the busy kitchen’s input, output, and everything in between. Despite the high cost of kosher food, and the difficulties importing many necessary ingredients, the company is excited about this new venture.

Bangkok Air’s managing director, Linus Knobel, says that the Asian kosher market involves 10,000 meals a day with potential profits of almost $5 million annually. According to Thailand News, ElAl now purchases 800 of those meals. The company hopes to expand to serving kosher clients in hotels and supermarkets around the country.
