Road Sage: Rabbis Cruise For A Cause

New York

(lubavitch.com) The decorated Dodge Sprinter promises to be a traffic stopper this summer as it makes its way from New York to California, three Chabad rabbis in tow.

On a road trip that will take them through 22 states, Rabbis Dovi Barber, Meir New, and Levi Dubrawsky may be headed to popular places, like art festivals, sporting events, and concerts, but this is no leisure trip.

The rabbis are cruising with a cause: to reach out to Jews who might never consider exploring their own heritage.

If you see them, flag them down and hop into the van for a bite of kosher food, a mitzvah, a chance to talk.

“We just want to get out there and go to places where you might not expect to find a rabbi, and give Jewish people a chance to connect,” says Rabbi Dubrowsky.

Dubbed “Road Sage,” with a website to boot, the trip is a project of Lubavitch Youth Organization, the innovator of the Chabad mitzvah mobiles introduced in the summer of 1974, to promote the 10-point mitzvah campaign of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
