(lubavitch.com) Thousands who came to the Annual Brighton Beach Festival on Sunday, heard the shofar blasts and took time to learn about the upcoming Jewish High Holidays.

F.R.E.E.'s booth, strategically located at Brighton Beach and Coney Island Avenues, drew the attention of many in this Russian oasis. Hundreds took the opportunity to wrap tefillin, peruse the selection of Russian-language Jewish literature, and take home a Jewish calendar in time for the Jewish New Year
