Despite Anti-Semitism on UK Campuses, Jewish Activity Gains Momentum

By , London, UK

Twenty six men and women, Chabad Shluchim representing almost every major campus in the UK, met earlier this week to discuss vital issues confronting Jewish students today.

The two-day conference took place at Chabad of Bloomsbury’s new students’ center in Central London with the participation of Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice chairman of Chabad-Lubavitch World Headquarters, Rabbi Nachman Sudak OBE, Head of Chabad-Lubavitch UK and Rabbi Eli Brackman, Chairman of Chabad on Campus UK.

Rabbi Shmuel Lew, who together with Rabbi Faivish Vogel was a founder of Chabad UK’s pioneering work on campus since the 1960’s also attended, as did Dr Tali Loewenthal.

Anti-Semitism on campus and the stress students encounter during exam periods were among some of the issues explored. The representatives also discussed the launch of a three-week Israel educational trip during the summer break for Jewish students, and the Chabad on Campus UK website: www.chabadoncampus.org.uk.

Mr. David Slager was noted for his support and partnership in the growth of Chabad on Campus UK to better served the 10,000 Jewish students across the UK, providing a warm and loving home.
