(lubavitch.com) Stas Misezhnikov, Israel’s Minister of Tourism, El Al CEO Eliezer Shkedi took a break from promoting travel to the land of milk and honey to enjoy Chabad’s hospitality at an international tourism convention in Berlin last week.

Over the course of the five-day event, attended by a half-million people from over 100 countries, hundreds of Jewish convention goers turned to Chabad of Berlin to put on tefillin, obtain kosher meals, and enjoy Shabbat with hosts from the local Jewish community.  Chabad of Berlin representatives Rabbis Yehuda Teichtel and Avraham Golovacheov helped Jewish travel professionals from Israel, Europe, the U.S., and South America feel at home.

On the heels of a record breaking year for Israeli travel, a large number of travel companies, hotel chains, and tourism-related services from Israel hosted booths at the convention. Chabad’s Rabbi Chaim Kaplan demonstrated the Jewish scribal arts at the northern Israel exhibition sponsored by Israel’s Tourism Ministry.
