New Building for Growing Moscow School

By , Moscow, Russia

Hundreds turned out last week to mark the dedication of a new building for Moscow’s Cheder Menachem Jewish day school.

Standing near the Marina Roscha Jewish Community Center in the heart of Moscow, the new facility provides more space for the school’s growing student body, including larger class rooms, a school synagogue, a play area, a state-of-the-art gym, a large library and ample size dining room.

The event, covered by local television stations included entertainment by the school’s choir and lively music. Rabbi Berel Lazar, the chief rabbi of Russia, addressed the crowd.

The new building was funded by philanthropist Gad Nisanov of Moscow.
