On Tuesday, November 1, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro visited the Chabad house at the Tel Aviv Diamond Exchange, where he met with Hagai Halevi, Chabad representative to the area and a board member of the Diamond Exchange.

Mr. Shapiro was accompanied by Yair Sahar, President of the Israel Diamond Exchange and several prominent businessmen.

“He spoke Hebrew fluently and was familiar with the good work of Chabad,” Rabbi Halevi told Lubavitch.com. “The Ambassador underlined the strong friendship between Israel and the United States. He stressed that he was sent as a 'Shliach' [emissary] by President Obama to deepen and strengthen the good relations between the two countries.”
