Building Blocks of A Community In Gwinnett County, GA

Chabad in Northern Central Georgia is using bricks to build a sense of community

Gwinnett, GA

Chabad of Gwinnett County in Northern Central Georgia is using bricks to build a sense of community.

Some years back, Chabad purchased a property in the Peachtree Corners neighborhood with the dream of one day building a full center to serve the local community. Now Rabbi Yossi Lerman, director of Chabad of Gwinnett has launched a novel, pre-building Legacy Bricks campaign.

The Legacy Bricks campaign offers one free brick for every Jewish family in Gwinnett and the surrounding areas. “It is important for people to know that at Chabad, they are already a part of it, they already belong,” says Rabbi Lerman. Families can sign up and choose an inscription for their brick which will be used in the new two story, 13,000 square foot structure. A sanctuary, a mikvah, a library as well as classrooms will be part of the new facility.

The campaign is generating interest and bringing new people into the community. “As families sign up, we are building new connections with members of our Jewish family all around Gwinnett.”
