Statement From Chabad Lubavitch HQ On Pittsburgh Massacre

Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky Calls On World Leaders To Wake Up

Statement From Chabad Lubavitch HQ On Pittsburgh Massacre

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

October 28, 2018

We are devastated by the massacre at the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Chabad movement mourns for those who were murdered while in synagogue on Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest. To the survivors and families of the individuals cut down by vile hatred, we extend our heartfelt condolences. May G-d give you solace and comfort in the days and weeks ahead as you negotiate the unexpected and vicious loss of your loved ones.

Know that you are not alone.

You are in our hearts and in our prayers. Chabad-Lubavitch representatives around the world stand with you, ready to help.

This is an attack—one we never imagined would happen on American soil—against the Jewish people. It is a clarion call to governments, communal leaders, educators and parents: The ugliest and oldest of hatreds, permitted to find expression in any form, ultimately sows depraved violence. We must work together to eradicate this evil by a policy of zero tolerance for anti-Semitism.

As we grapple with this calamity, Chabad centers around the world are accelerating their activities to foster love and unity among all members of the Jewish family and beyond. Let us draw strength from the timeless and fortifying bond that we share.

Let us displace hatred with love, darkness with light, divisiveness with unity.

בלע המות לנצח ומחה השם אלוקים דמעה מעל כל פנים
